Thoughts about Birds
Over the last decade, I’ve photographed thousands of birds, mostly in zoos or sanctuaries. I think about them often and consider the different circumstances that pressured them into their many shades of blue and red, what purpose their vibrant plumage has. Birds have always been a perfect form of inspiration for me, as they embody a delicate beauty and intense tenacity to survive. The many evolutionary adaptations are a prime example. Maybe that’s why I tend to draw them when I begin to run out of ideas.
