Purpose and Inspiration
Madelyn’s illustrative work is a culmination of stylistic choices that she calls ‘Feral’ due to its intuitive and naturalistic themes. Her work commonly uses imagery of deceased animals to project the severity of environmental issues such as climate change, habitat loss, human intervention, and provides a reflection into our own mortality.
Her other works are explorations of the self, transported into environments that are quickly diminishing. These illustrations are self-indulgent and personal, an escape into a place that humans have rarely touched and one that will someday be overrun with concrete.
